Our Mission

The Atomix Puzzle Solver project was founded to assist puzzle enthusiasts, speedcubers, and mathematicians in solving complex 3D rotational sphere puzzles. Physical puzzles like the Atomix, Orb Puzzle, and Hungarian Rings present unique rotational mechanics that can leave even seasoned solvers baffled. Our tool bridges the gap between mechanical frustration and mathematical understanding.

What is the Atomix Puzzle?

The Atomix puzzle (often referred to as a 3D rotating bead sphere or Orb puzzle) is a multi-axis 3D combination puzzle. It features colored beads arranged along intersecting circular channels on a spherical surface. Players rotate rings around different axes to scramble or solve the color arrangements.

Unlike standard flat sliding puzzles, 3D spherical puzzles require handling complex permutation parity and commutators. Moving one bead along a ring inevitable shifts multiple other beads across intersecting rings, creating intricate puzzle states.

How the Solver Engine Works

Our computational engine uses specialized graph search and group theory algorithms to find optimal or near-optimal solution sequences:
